Who we are

This website is operated by Estefanía Quevedo Lusby, trading as Short Stories in Spanish (https://shortstoriesinspanish.com). We sell digital learning materials — graded short stories, audio recordings, and activity packs — for Spanish language learners.

What data we collect and why

When you make a purchase

All payments and digital product delivery are handled by Lemon Squeezy (a service of Lemon Squeezy, LLC). When you buy a product, you provide your name, email address, and payment details directly to Lemon Squeezy — not to us. We receive a notification that a purchase was made, including your email and the product bought, so we can support you if something goes wrong.

When you join the app waitlist

If you enter your email address on the waitlist or free story form, that email is stored by our email provider (Kit, by ConvertKit) and used only to send you what you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.

When you contact us

If you fill in the contact form, your email address and message are sent to us via Resend. We use that information only to respond to your enquiry and do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

Website analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use this site (pages visited, general location, device type). Vercel Analytics is designed to be privacy-first: it does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not store personally identifiable information. No consent banner is required for this type of analytics under GDPR.

Cookie policy

This website uses no first-party cookies of its own. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies.

Third-party cookies may be set in the following limited circumstances:

  • Lemon Squeezy checkout — when you click a "Buy now" button, you are redirected to Lemon Squeezy's hosted checkout. Lemon Squeezy may set cookies on their domain to process your payment and prevent fraud. These cookies are subject to Lemon Squeezy's cookie policy, not ours.
  • Embedded waitlist form — if you interact with the app waitlist embed (Loops.so or Buttondown), that provider may set a cookie to remember your submission.

Because we set no first-party cookies ourselves, no cookie consent banner is required for normal browsing of this site.

How long we keep your data

Purchase records are retained for as long as required by applicable tax law (typically 7 years in most jurisdictions). Email addresses collected for the app waitlist are deleted within 30 days of the app launching, or upon request. Contact form submissions are deleted once the enquiry is resolved.

Your rights (GDPR and equivalents)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with equivalent data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Data transfers

Our service providers (Lemon Squeezy, Vercel, Formspree) are based in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the EEA, these providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism approved by the European Commission.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
