Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

Who these terms apply to

These terms govern your use of https://shortstoriesinspanish.com and the purchase of digital products from Short Stories in Spanish, operated by Estefanía Quevedo Lusby. By browsing this site or completing a purchase, you agree to these terms.

Our products

We sell digital learning materials — graded short stories (PDF), audio recordings (MP3), activity packs (PDF), and bundles combining these — for Spanish language learners.

All products are for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not redistribute, resell, share publicly, or use our content to train AI models without our written permission.

Purchases and payment

All purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC). When you click "Buy now" you leave our site and enter Lemon Squeezy's hosted checkout. Your payment details are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy — we never see or store your card information.

Prices are displayed in US dollars (USD) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes where required by law. Lemon Squeezy handles VAT and sales tax compliance automatically.

Price accuracy: We make every effort to display correct prices. If a pricing error occurs, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.

Delivery

All products are delivered digitally and instantly. After a successful purchase, Lemon Squeezy will send you an email with a secure download link. You can also access your purchases at any time through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal: app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders.

Download links expire after a set number of downloads or days as configured in Lemon Squeezy. If your link has expired, contact us and we will reissue it at no charge.

Refund policy

Because our products are digital files that are available immediately upon purchase, we generally do not offer refunds once a file has been downloaded.

However, we will issue a full refund in any of these circumstances:

  • You were charged but did not receive your download link within 24 hours and we are unable to resend it.
  • The file you received is corrupted, incomplete, or significantly different from what was described on the product page.
  • You were charged twice for the same product.

To request a refund, email hello@shortstoriesinspanish.com within 14 days of purchase with your order number. We aim to resolve all refund requests within 5 business days.

If you are based in the EU or UK, your statutory consumer rights — including the right to a 14-day cooling-off period for digital goods not yet downloaded — apply and are not affected by this policy.

Intellectual property

All content on this site — including story texts, audio recordings, cover artwork, illustrations, and website copy — is the intellectual property of Estefanía Quevedo Lusby and is protected by copyright law.

Purchasing a product grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the downloaded files for your own Spanish learning. This licence does not transfer ownership of the copyright.

You may not:

  • Share, upload, or distribute the files to others
  • Use the content in a classroom or group setting without a separate licence (contact us — we offer educator pricing)
  • Reproduce or adapt the text for publication in any form
  • Use the content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any machine learning or AI model

The companion app

The Short Stories in Spanish mobile app is not yet available. The app landing page and email waitlist on this site are for informational purposes and intent capture only. Signing up for the waitlist creates no obligation on either side. We will not charge you for the waitlist or share your email with third parties.

Disclaimer of warranties

Our products are provided "as is." While we take care to ensure our graded stories are accurate and appropriate for the stated level, we make no guarantee that any product will produce a specific learning outcome. Language learning results depend on many individual factors outside our control.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Short Stories in Spanish shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our products or this website. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you hold under the law of your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted at https://shortstoriesinspanish.com/terms with an updated date. Continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
